CrankTexts is the brain child of stand-up comic Theo Von.

Theo spends his days texting completely random phone numbers, and seeing what insane conversations he can get his victims into.

Here’s what he has to say about the site and how it came about:

One day I got a text message from a girl. It said, ‘Hey its Wanda’. And I wrote back, ‘Wanda who?’. And she wrote back, “Dewanda, yor cousin”. And instead of saying ‘I don’t have a cousin’, I wrote back ‘How u doin shawty!?’

FAST FORWARD. Dewanda and I have now been texting for six months, she still thinks I’m her cousin, and even though I have no clue who she is, I almost feel like she and her 8 month old son Demari (my God-nephew), really are family now.

Since then I’ve texted over 5 thousand phone numbers. And created the most insane conversations I can. It gives me something to do, and I look forward to it everyday. I post the one’s I like the most on this site. I hope you like some of them.
